f1r1cf TOPIC:r0 c7FTP Directory Maintenance Utilities
r1cfDESCRIPTION:r0 c7File manipulation of your FTP'd files
c2
The FTP Directory Maintenance area allows you to tag files you FTP'd,
download those files, edit the file names (great for MSDOS users who
can't handle files with multiple extensions), and delete (remove) files
that you have already downloaded. The display will show you your files
and the size of the files in kilobytes (KBytes).
c6
Commands listed on the Directory Maintenance menu are:
c5E c1Edit/Rename files
ccThis option allows you to rename your files. This is very
useful for MSDOS/Windows users who can not handle multiple
file extensions (ie. filename.tar.z).
c5R c1Remove/Delete files
ccThis option allows you to delete files that you have already
tagged and downloaded. Be careful when using this option. You
have to tag and download your files FIRST before deleting them.
If you tag your files and then delete them from the directory
list, you will not be able to download them (they will no longer
exist in your storage directory). This command has 3 options:
#: number of the file on the display
0: deletes all files on the current screen list
[ENTER]: quits back to the Directory Maintenance menu
c5T c1Tag files for downloading
ccThis option allows you to tag files off the directory list
for downloading. There are 3 options available at the Tag
prompt.
#: number of the file listed from the display
0: tags all files on the current screen list
(doing this option again on the current list will untag
your files)
[ENTER]: quits back to the main Directory Maintenance menu
c5D c1Download files (individual or tagged)
ccThis command will prompt you if you wish to download
individual files (listed from the directory display) or
if you wish to download tagged files (see the T option above).
Choosing one or the other will take you to a new screen which
will ask you for your active transfer protocol (ie. Xmodem,
Ymodem, Zmodem, etc). It will then take you through the transfer
and send the file(s) to your machine. When this procedure is
finished, you will be returned to the Directory Maintenance menu.
If you choose nothing at the Individual or Tagged prompt, you
will be returned to the DirMaint options prompt.
c5U c1Upload files to storage directory
ccThis option only appears if the sysop has set the UPLOAD
function in INet's configuration file. When you select
the upload function, it will take you to a new screen and
will give you these options:
[ENTER]: allows batch transfers
Q: quits/aborts upload function
<filename>: allows entering of a file name
You will then be prompted for your protocol and the usual
upload prompts will be shown. When uploading is completed,
you will be returned to the Directory Maintenance menu.
c5P c1Display Previous page of files
ccThis option only appears if there are files on the previous
page on the directory list.
c5N c1Display Next page of files
ccThis option only appears if there are more files on the next
page of the directory list
c5Q c1Quit Directory Maintenance
ccQuits the FTP Directory Maintenance sub-menu and returns
you to the INetShell main menu.
